Day 1 of our International Day of the Girl Child celebration was a success! We started at Mushunga Vision Primary School, then moved to Nkunda SDA Primary School, and wrapped up the day at Nyanga Community SS. We were able to support both girls and boys equally with books, ensuring no one is left behind in their education journey. All the girls received sanitary pads for their regular use, and we left some with the school administrations for emergency use by the pupils and students. We also demonstrated the importance of menstrual hygiene, creating a safe space where girls shared their personal stories and dreams with our female representatives.A big THANK YOU to our amazing partners, Girl Power Foundation Uganda and Izere Education, for standing with Zamaani Inspire Foundation and helping us make today truly impactful!Special thanks to the heads of the visited schools and their entire staff for being so supportive and welcoming our initiative to empower their schools. This gesture will surely increase their enrollment and retention rate!Looking forward to Day 2! #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild #EmpoweringDreams #ZamaaniInspireFoundation #IzereEducation #GirlPowerFoundation #MenstrualHygiene

Despite its location in Accra’s affluent district, Dzorwulu Primary School faces a dire need for school uniforms. Many students from surrounding squatter settlements attend the school, and their uniforms often paint a different picture than the area's elite reputation.Worn-out uniforms, threadbare at the seams and faded from countless washes, are a common sight. These uniforms, a symbol of pride and unity in other schools, become a constant reminder of hardship for these students. The contrast can be a source of embarrassment, affecting their academic focus and sense of belonging in the classroom. The situation worsens with the frequent demolitions that devastate these squatter settlements. Families displaced by these actions often lose their belongings, including irreplaceable school uniforms. This is the harsh reality for many students at Dzorwulu Primary. Standard Weave's intervention can transform these lives. Providing free, standard uniforms would ensure every student at Dzorwulu Primary starts the day with the same sense of confidence and equality. It's not just about replacing uniforms; it's about fostering a positive school environment where every child feels welcome and valued. #WhyWeWeave #MakingImpact #GivingBack #EquitableEducation

Compassionate Capitalism is what makes the world a better place. Using business - and tech - for good. Or as the leaders of Dilmah Tea would say it: "business is a matter of human service". Highly recommend to get their book and to dive in their story.

Did you know that in Uganda, there is a high rate of school dropout among mothers, with approximately 45% of primary school mothers and 30% of secondary school mothers leaving before finishing their education? These statistics highlight the harsh reality many teenage mothers face when trying to balance education and motherhood. That's why Bantwana's Teenage Mother Program is so crucial. Through providing tailored support, we're breaking down barriers and empowering these young moms to build brighter futures for themselves and their children. Knowledge is power, and understanding these statistics is the first step in creating meaningful change. #TheMoreYouKnow #TeenMumProgram #Empowerment

🩸 Empowering Girls, One Pad at a Time 🩸Education is a right, not a privilege—yet in Rwanda, 20% of schoolgirls, particularly in rural areas, are missing up to 50 days of school each year due to a lack of access to sanitary products and proper sanitation facilities. 🌟 Calling for Action: Empowering Rural Education in Kpoglu, Ketu South Municipality, Volta Region 🌟Dear LinkedIn Community,I am reaching out to shed light on the challenges faced by my community in Kpoglu, Ketu South Municipality, located in the heart of the Volta Region of Ghana. Despite its scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage, our community grapples with systemic issues that hinder the educational and socio-economic development of its residents, particularly the youth. In Kpoglu, both public and private schools lack essential resources like libraries, limiting students' access to educational materials and hindering their learning opportunities. Compounded by the economic burden placed on families who rely on farming as their primary source of income, challenges such as pest infestations and acid rain further exacerbate the struggle to make ends meet. The consequences are dire. Many students are unable to complete their basic education, with nearly 70 percent of the youth unable to read and understand proficiently. Tragically, this situation has led to a proliferation of teenage pregnancies, drug addiction, and other indecent behaviors among our youth, robbing them of their potential and opportunities for a brighter future. As a member of this community, I refuse to stand idly by while our youth are robbed of their dreams and aspirations. It is time for action. We urgently need support from compassionate individuals, organizations, and government agencies to address these pressing issues and create sustainable solutions.Together, we can:1. Establish libraries in our schools to provide students with access to educational resources and foster a culture of reading and learning.2. Implement agricultural support programs to help farmers mitigate the impact of pest infestations and environmental hazards, ensuring food security and economic stability.3. Launch education and awareness campaigns to combat teenage pregnancies, drug addiction, and other social challenges, empowering our youth to make positive choices for their futures.Let us join forces to transform Kpoglu into a thriving community where every child has the opportunity to receive a quality education, pursue their dreams, and contribute meaningfully to society.#RuralEducation #CommunityDevelopment #Empowerment #VoltaRegion #Ghana #YouthEmpowerment #SustainableDevelopmentYour support and partnership are invaluable as we strive to create a brighter future for generations to come. With hope and determination,[Isaac Agbonyitor]

Let's take a moment to acknowledge the efforts ASAP is making to ensure that every girl receives an education. According to the 2022 Basic Education data, a total of 193,605 students dropped out of primary school, with 112,366 boys and 81,239 girls. When it comes to secondary school, Mwanza ranked first with 9,097 dropouts. This is precisely why we have implemented the Kupanda Project for Girls. The Kupanda Project for Girls is a comprehensive support program located in a dormitory setting. It offers various resources all in one place, including safe housing, health education, access to menstrual health management products, after-school tutoring, proper nutrition, safe water, educational materials, computer labs, STEM training, a four-year curriculum focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and empowerment, as well as scholarships for advanced study. When girls and women receive an education, they tend to marry later, have fewer children, enjoy better health, and have healthier families. They also earn more money, which they reinvest in their families and communities. Furthermore, educated women are more likely to educate their own children, ultimately breaking the cycle of poverty. On this #InternationalWomensDay, we want to emphasize the positive impact that the Kupanda Project for Girls has on the lives of girls in rural #Tanzania. We encourage you to continue supporting our mission to reduce dropout rates and provide every girl, regardless of her background, with a chance to receive a quality education. Over the past two years, the Kupanda Project for Girls has achieved an outstanding completion rate of 100%, and we look forward to graduating even more girls in the future.
