Wonderful and scrumptious meal at Zahli. Every food is so tasty. The host and chef are kind enough to let us order the banquet even if it’s just two of us so appreciate that guys. Service is great too from our host Rudy. Would come back again and highly recommend.

Great restaurant with street parking right outside the venue. Food was great and the service was outstanding. Not sure If it's wheelchair or pram accessible as I only saw stairs but perhaps call the restaurant and ask if they have an alternative entrance for that.

Very good food, awesome service. Normally I don't order Lamb but because of someone recommends me to try, I ordered lamb with some other dishes recommended by their staff. Everything was so good, flavourful and most important freshness in every bite of food was just amazing. I Strongly recommend if someone wants to try some middle eastern cuisine 💯

After the failed Middle Eastern food experience last time, I urgently need to find a delicious Middle Eastern restaurant. This Lebanese restaurant met my expectations very well. The juicy eggplant is a good appetiser. And I really like the lahem meshwi (lamb shish kebab). The meat is very tender and the juice flows out every bite. The dipping sauces are another highlight, we had a garlic flavoured sauce and pepper flavoured and both of them tasted amazing. If I want to be greedy, I will take one home!The chicken shawarma is good but a bit too sour for us, and the squid is average so I deduct a star for these reasons. But if I ever crave for nice kabab dishes in the near future, I will visit here again.

We've enjoyed our experince at Zahli, the owner and staff are very friendly and the quality of food is excellent. There is room for improvement for the "mansaf" plates as the rice portions are very small.

Could not fault our dining experience here! We had the labneh, fattoush, potatoes, mixed grill, chicken manaf and the kousa. Finished off with knafeh and rice pudding. Service was amazing, especially Adella who was extremely attentive and kind. The restaurant itself is lovely, with a great atmosphere. My daughter was so impressed she thanked the chef personally. I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Anason three times now, and each experience has been nothing but amazing! The recent dinner last night surpassed expectations. I was initially concerned about the menu changes, fearing it might not match the excellence of the previous offerings. However, I was pleasantly surprised – the new menu is equally fantastic.The pricing is reasonable, offering great value for the quality of food. The staff deserves a special mention for their friendliness and efficiency. Anason continues to impress, and I look forward to returning for more delightful evenings!

I think there are just not many good Turkish restaurants that's fancy in the city.Add the combination of fancy fusion Turkish is even harder. Married into a Turkish family, there are certain expectations when one visits a fusion Turkish restaurant.First dish, sardine. I only had one piece because it was way too fishy (more than usual) for my liking. The corn was overcooked and dry, so it was quite disappointing, given that corn is one of my favourite dishes on any menu. Bread was smaller than I expected, although tasty.You can imagine at this point that the octopus and lamb shoulder is where we wanted to end the night with good taste in the mouth. Luckily, they were nice. Lamb was soft and moist, and the octopus was cooked just right, not tough or chewy. Personally, I can't say I'll go back or recommend it to my friends. Maybe other dishes are nice.. I'm not sure and probably won't find out. As for the service, it is ordinary and makes me wonder if it is still hard to find good service in the city? I've had some pleasant experience at other restaurants.

Beautiful set-up and food was delicious, but we couldn't understand the waitress and a few options were so small in size. It was hard to know what we're ordering especially if you haven't already tried Turkish food.I recommend photos on the menu or on their website to help customers make the right choices.

Expectations were blown out the water! Every dish we got had so much love, flavour and detail put into it. The lamb backstrap was so tender and the rice had the most amazing depth of flavour and texture dimension. Service was excellent and staff very knowledgeable and friendly - shout out to Jade & Sebastian. Highly recommend!

The food is great. The service is great. The waitresses and waiters are very nice. They have a high standard for food. My friends came late, they replaced our cold dish and gave us a freshly cooked dish and said they wanted us to enjoy their dish with the best temperature.

We had the feast, which allows a range of fishes. There is a lot of food, so it is wise to be hungry. The first few dishes were finger food and all were very good. I really like the oyster. The next set were vegetable focused. The carrots were excellent. The next set was great and we both loved the roasted cauliflower. Finally the dessert was brilliant. Overall this is my favourite Turkish place across SE Australia.

Had a fabulous experience at Anason!It was Saturday lunch, we were amazed by their beautiful interior design with tiles and also their professional services.We had a Turkish coffee, lamb, cauliflower and stone cooked bread. Every menu was amazing, especially the lamb was very nice, it was tender and juicy, the stone cooked bread was crispy and soft inside. Will definitely come back again and have the lamb with the bread again!

Had a team Dinner. Yes the food is expensive for what you can get authentically out west, but the quality and flavour is in each dish! My top picks from the set menu were the Lamb, Cauliflower, Halloumi and Sardine cracker.Personally I did not like the baklava which was dry, but apparently that is Turkish style vs Greek or Lebanese 👍🏽

Opting for the feast menu was an excellent choice, as it introduced me to a variety of remarkable treats that I wouldn't have otherwise experienced.The initial selection consisted of delectable finger foods, all of which were outstanding. Personally, I was particularly fond of the halloumi it was served with hot honey which was delicious. Moving on, the focus shifted to vegetable-based dishes, and both of us were captivated by the flavor of the roasted cauliflower.The lamb was undeniably the star of the meal, cooked to perfection and beautifully complemented by the eggplant puree. I highly recommend trying the Turkish bread, which was served piping hot and wonderfully soft.Lastly, the dessert was simply brilliant Pistachio baklava.Additionally, while the dining experience was enjoyable overall, there is room for improvement in terms of service. Unfortunately, the host did not exhibit the right attitude. Despite having made a booking and specifically requesting the set menu, we were initially assigned a less desirable table location. When I expressed my desire for a different table, the host informed us that all other tables had already been booked, which seemed rather incongruous since we had also made a reservation.On the bright side, the waitstaff were friendly and pleasant. However, there was some delay in serving the wine, which could have been more prompt. Overall, the service aspect could benefit from some attention and refinement.

Food and service were great.We weren't sure what to get so we went with the recommendations from our waiter, Sebastian.We ordered the cauliflower, heirloom tomato salad and lamb backstrap. The highlight was definitely the tomato salad.

Was there last Monday for a quick weekday night bite. Must say I was very impressed with the flavours, both variety and quality! Service was great all around with nice authentic ambience. Will make sure to be back!

Lebanese RestaurantThis is a restaurant that does not understand why people gather together to meet friends, to have a night out.people don’t want to be in and out in an hour !!!We ordered one of the banquets. Normally entrees will come out which in this case being a Lebanese restaurant dips ect., then one would expect the mains out given its hot food. All of the food came out together and quite honesty too quickly for it to have been cooked fresh. When I could see the food coming out quickly I spoke to the waiter,but that changed nothing I spoke to a waitress and she said it was already cooked. The hot food was dry and not good. The dips good.It’s BYO $2 per person so that is cheap and we got the table we wanted by the window. The restaurant is well laid out for groups of people and vibrant.When we went to paid we had another unfriendly staff member.Location good plenty of parking.Can’t recommend this restaurant for its food there are much better Lebanese restaurants.Follow me if helpful for more reviewsLove your local guide -M❤️

Was craving a mixed plate and found Jasmin1 close by. Food was great and the tea and baklava afterwards was icing on the cake. Very reasonable prices and great food. What else do you need.

Leichhardt is probably not what you would think of for authentic and high-quality Lebanese food, which is usually found in the heart of Sydney's west. So I was pretty impressed with Jasmin1. The food was solid, delicious and satisfying. The wait time for food was short and there were plenty of seats when I arrived around 7pm. My key recommendations are the fried cauliflower and the mixed lamb plate.

We stumbled here by accident and it was a great mistake. We had a mixed plate and chicken something and both were super! Please, get the lamb sheesh because my goodness... lamb.. so good 👍 best one out of beef and chicken. They give you bread and some garlic dips and pickles too! But the sauces that come with the dishes were like oh my lord. So much and so delicious and you dip the bread and yum 👌 had to take the left overs away because portions were quite big! Super delicious, must try!

We booked for a table of 12 for our staff party and decided to have a banquet for 40pp. The food arrives quickly and the staff is great and friendly. However, it seems that they were too busy so they cleared our plates as soon as we finished and would like to finish the work for the day. I heard from a colleague that you should avoid disappointment by always booking for table in advance especially with large group. Their dips were delicious and the portion size was okay. However the banquet was a bit pricey compared to the amount of food we received. Willing to come back to try other dishes as the restaurant was packed full with customers so I assumed it is very popular amongst the locals. This is my first time visiting here but not my first experience with Lebanese food. Enjoy their food tastes as always. Came on a Friday evening without a reservation. We noted a lot of reserved tables when we sat, so first suggestion is make a booking. Ordered mixed plate, lamb sheesh, fried cauliflower. We also received complimentary bread, pickles & garlic dip. The garlic dip is fantastic & bread was generous. Enjoyed my smoky baba ghanoush & crunchy falafels. Food was tasty. Noted a lot of what looked like regulars.

Came here from our way back from the city and it was not too busy around 5-6pm Saturday. Great service from the staff. Food and flavours were really good but the only let down that day was the lamb(on the mixed Lamb plate) was not hot when we got it, it was a little bit on the colder side compared to the other components on the plate such as the falafel. Overall, the bread and garlic dip was delicious and the portion of the mixed plate was good for two. (They also refilled the garlic sauce with no charge!!)

Very good quality Lebanese cuisine. As good as the other Jasmin venues but a calmer atmosphere imo. Generous servings and reasonable prices for the location. Would definitely come again.

The interior is well decorated and there's lots of seating. The hummus was phenomenal! The other dishes were pretty good but the knafeh was quite disappointing as there wasn't any cheese pull and the flavours were mediocre.

Come here for views and outdoor dining in the middle of the city. And you'll pay accordingly.This is a fantastic rooftop spot with a nice selection of drinks and good food. It's thick with beautiful people grabbing pictures in the tower area, but there's lots of space on the expensive patio and indoors.It's not cheap, though. My friend paid $30 for a glass of wine from the Hunter Valley (not fancy French wine!). I was expecting the $9 half pint of beer, but honestly the wine was a bit shocking.Definitely a top rooftop place for a special night.🛗 To enter, go into the Westfield and go up to the 7th floor.

Babylon offers a great and fresh variety of elevated Middle Eastern dishes that left us wanting more. We ordered 2 mains and 2 appetizers and had plenty to eat. The portions are bigger then tapas and can be shared. We had the halloumi starter, grilled octopus, cauliflower side and lamb kebab. We finished with desserts including baklavah, and sorbets. The service was excellent and our waitress explained the different dishes well and made great suggestions. The dishes were very flavorful and the presentation exquisite. The ambience is casual but elevated with modern settings that still feel warm and intimate. Perfect place for a business lunch or a catch up. We are inside vs on the rooftop. The restaurant is nestled inside a mall but in a quiet section away from the stores. Loved lunch here!

WOW. My daughter spoilt me with a dinner here before a show at the Theatre Royal in Sydney. This restaurant was beautiful. The service was fantastic and all staff that approached us were friendly and helpful. The food was next level. We both tried meals we never had before and we were very grateful of this. The smokiness and aromatic flavours were melt in the mouth moments. We then took the opportunity to have a drink afterwards out on the rooftop bar. Great vibe. Definitely a restaurant to dine at. Loved it.

We had a good dinner here for celebration - like the ambience and their utensils, very class. The Turkish bread and hummus, grilled cauliflower and octopus - the entrees are delicious. Really like their grill. The main is lamp shoulder and the portion is definitely larger than expected. The taste of lamp is not too impressive, which is a little disappointing. But overall, this is a good place to hang out and have some good food.

Had dinner with my family and it was amazing! The services is professional and Pricilia is wonderful and friendly. The lamb is humongous and delicious, and the wagyu is beautifully grilled. The beetroot salad is so fresh and turkish bread and their homemade butter is really good, i cant get enough! As for dessert, kunnefeh is delightful. Special thanks for Chef Bella and team! Definitely one for a big group gathering! The food is made to share and packed with flavour. The service was good but also busy at the time we visited so felt a bit slow. Highlights on the menu include whole chicken with toum, halloumi and focaccia with their hummus and baba ganoush dips.

We chose this venue for a work dinner and we were very happy with the meal. A modern twist of some middle eastern classic dishes whilst still maintaining the original spices, flavours and preparation techniques. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. We shared or the dishes which was the way to go. My only criticism was that restaurant was a bit cold and drafty. Service was ok but not very attentive given the price point.

On Valentines day, it was only course menu to select.. but food was really impressive.. we had beef for choice.. I'll 100% recommends n I would love to come back to try usual menu also roof top bar side.. atmosphere is much better than restaurant side.. coz I requested at restaurant side..

Have eaten here twice now - a nice option to break up the shopping humdrum. Lovely outdoor area, as well as spacious indoor seating. It’s a little on the pricey side but the serves are big & the quality is good. We couldn’t quite finish everything - the best were the prawns & the the Lamb Gozleme. Lamb Kofta was good too. Haloumi was tasty but the taste of the cheese was drowned by the taste of the tidewater, & I feel the quality of the Haloumi could have been better.

I was blown away by how good our experience at Babylon was. Beautiful presentation of excellent food that paid homage to traditional Middle Eastern flavours but with its own flair (I have found that too many places these days are all flash but the food itself lacks flavour, finesse, authenticity or substance - but not Babylon!). Service was amazing too, appreciated the attention to detail with topping up our waters.We unanimously agreed that the stars of the show were the:- Turkish bread with za’atar butter (perfect combo of pillowy, fluffy and crunchy and paired so well with the za’atar butter as well as additional hummus and smoky babaghanoush we ordered separately)- Tilba haloumi with fresh honeycomb (absolutely mind-blowing, crispy on the outside and decadently soft on the inside, complemented perfectly by the delicately sweet honeycomb)- Slow-cooked Lamb shoulder (fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy, the jus was rich and delicious)We came as a group of 6 - this venue is great for groups and sharing. Would absolutely return to try the rest of the menu as well as the desserts which sounded amazing.

Gorgeous restaurant nestled into the sandstone of the Rocks area.STAFF: Very attentive staff who happily take you through their dishes.FOOD/DRINKS: Good selection of vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes with varied gluten free options available. High quality ingredients served fresh and plated up well. Great (hommus, garlic, tahini, slices Moroccan flavours etc of the North African/Middle East). Our servings were not huge, I'd suggest sharing a number of plates if there are a group of you. They have a great drinks/wine selection too.AMBIENCE: Gorgeous rustic timber and sandstone building with stunning low lit lightning. Ideal for events or a romantic dinner. Some dining available outside which would allow you to take your dog/s etc. great live music outside on the night we were last here. Some table and chairs are hidden away in little private nooks, so this would even serve well as a client business dinner venue too.OVERALL: Will definitely be back, loved the warm, homely yet classy vibe. Would definitely recommend and appreciate the high quality use of ingredients.

Really enjoyed or time here. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere inside the heritage building that is now the Rocks Hotel. Food was excellent with a variety that I haven't tasted before, as part of the promotion for the Whiskey festival a set menu was supplied and enjoyed by all guests of the restaurant at full capacity. I highly recommend this establishment and will definately be dining there again.

Food at Tayim was great! Roasted cauliflower and halloumi were delicious, nice spicy margarita, the restaurant itself is very pretty. The food comes out very quickly - which is good, but maybe a tad too quick. Booked for 8pm and was out by 9pm, we had three small plates to share, then a main and a side, a couple of drinks and we were out within one hour. The bill was brought as soon as we said we didn’t want dessert, could’ve fancied another drink to finish up but didn’t have the chance to order one. Overall it was really yumm, just felt a bit like we were pushed to leave quick, at 9pm.

We dined at 8:00 on a Saturday night. We didn’t have reservations, but there was an option on the deck or on the bar, so we chose to sit outside.The atmosphere was good, with the inside having wonderful sandstone walls. Outside was good too, with a view of an interesting laneway.The food was good - the fish cigars had a wonderful sauce and the halloumi was very tasty. The potatoes were ok, but the roast pumpkin didn’t grab me.The options for drinks were appropriate, with the beer coming in their cans or bottles - no draught option. There was an impressive range of non-alcoholic options.The service was initially good, but stretched out after the first 2 plates. I understand that they were busy, but it was noticeably slow.I recommend them, but don’t think I’ll be back - i will try some other places.

The worst staff ever seen! So rude and pushy. Worst food ever! The felafel kebab should be in starter section! Two small balls with cucumber pickle and with bread $17.50!!!When we ordered, the lady who was taking orders was pushing us to have Lam shish or chicken. I’ve never seen such a ppl before!The food was awful, the felafel was so greasy we got sick after. The Baba Gonush was tooooo sweet and salty. Awful in one word.

Friendliest dining experience ever! The staff were so welcoming - took our coats, made co*cktail recommendations. You couldn’t help but groove along to the playlist. The communal table setting contributed to the fun and friendly vibe. Food was fast, co*cktails even better!

I was really excited to go here. I went last night for my partners birthday. When we arrived front of house didn’t seem happy to greet us. We were seated- if i hadn’t of grabbed the waiters attention we probably would have sat there for 30 minutes plus. No suggestions made when ordering, won’t asked how the food was.The lamb hummus was beautiful, king prawns were average. The charred corn probably should be called burnt corn. The chicken shish was nice but maybe by this point nothing seemed to taste great because the service wasn’t great ?co*cktails served in Kmart jars I have at home and eat my overnight oats out of.To travel into the city I was expecting better.We paid the bill and we won’t even asked how our meal was so I didn’t get a chance to give feed back there and then.The location is nice- could be a really great place.The choice of music was interesting really loud old r&b dance mixes not really what you sit down and ever too. They put on Lebanese music which was so much better.I have worked in hospitality from the age of 18 up until a few years ago and have my own business- so over all pretty disappointed.

A great place for a celebratory meal or just for some really good food regardless of occasion. The fish croquettes stole the show. I also particularly really loved the extra touch on the hummus with crispy chickpeas.

Halal food!! Halal certified. Stunning views right next to Darling Harbour! My best friend and I went for our yearly meet up and ate beautiful middle eastern food! 🥰🌹🔥😍We had lamb shoulder! (Remember to ask the staff to make the gravy/sauce halal (without alcohol), we also had falafel, pomegranate salad, all the dips and bread!! The mint/lime mojito was refreshing! 💐💐We also tried their special fish (Samke Harra) and also their salt and pepper squid!!

Honestly I can’t explain how much I enjoyed my time at Jounich. The food was absolutely scrumptious and had so much taste and flavor. The staff was so accommodating and the food came out very quick. It was such a warm and comfortable environment and was not packed or loud. Perfect if you want a relaxing evening!! It would be crazy not to go to this restaurant weather your live in Sydney or are traveling.

Absolutely outstanding! We just celebrated our Christmas dinner at Jounieh. We had a great time, and we were very well looked after by Toni at all times. Some of our guests were vegan and the restaurant accommodated nice meals for them. In general, it's the best place if you have vegetarian or vegan guest but absolutely great for meat lovers too. We had the banquet with no seafood option, and we honestly had so much food! I really recommend the experience there, not even mentioning the views been by the water! Thank you, Toni and team.

Great location. Very helpful and friendly staffs. But, the food isn’t the best. I mean it’s good but not the best. It’s not very pricey either. But I don’t know, I felt quality could be much better. It could be cooking but something was missing. It wasn’t the kinda on point. We went with two kids and staffs were very helpful accomodating us. What an absolute delight. The atmosphere was great, with a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were fantastic and welcoming, and the food was perfect. We had the banquet menu which I think is a must. All the dishes were beautiful with the quail skewers and lamb shawarma a real standout .

Food was amazing, they were all standouts and we were speechless at each one. David was an attentive and thoughtful host and gave great suggestions on the menu, as well as explaining each dish which really enhanced the experience. Came here for a friend’s birthday and they had such nice touches from greetings to the candle service at the end. Ambience and interior is beautiful at such a lovely location. Would come again❤️

I celebrated my birthday here recently and had the “express lunch” and it was 10/10. The food was phenomenal, service was great and overall fantastic atmosphere. The express lunch menu was perfect for a mid week birthday celebration. I will definitely be back and recommend this venue to all the foodies out there!

Cannot recommend the food highly enough, must visit. Came to celebrate my partners birthday and it was great but it could have been perfect. A nice touch was that we were warmly welcomed by staff and they wished her a happy birthday upon arrival. The atmosphere and venue is very nice with many different seating options both in and outside. The food was divine with the Prawn skewers, carrots and lamb all a stand out. the service after being seated was only Okay, not incredible. The water was not topped up once throughout the whole sitting and I had to ask them to filter my wine after a lot of sediment was poured into my glass (bottle was still half full) and more was still visible in the bottle. Another thing that I was surprised about was usually a little cake or further acknowledgement of a patrons birthday during the evening, it's not expected but I have not been to a restaurant in Sydney that has not done something more for that celebration. Other than those things that would have made the experience faultless, the food here and even though I have not had too much Middle Eastern food, for me it's easily the best I've tried. Aalia is a must try in Sydney

unique food, not for everyone but interesting.First time trying Middle Eastern / North African cuisine.The spices are a bit too salty for my liking but maybe it something that i haven't tried but all the produce were fresh and high-quality. Decent middle eastern food, the lamb neck and scallops were great!Avoid the chickpea dish, it’s just hummus and the menu is misleading, the waitstaff also didn’t mention it was a hummus dish when we asked for an explanation.The staff also pushed drinks way too hard. We were asked every 2 mins if we wanted another drink to the point we had to tell them to stop asking. We ordered co*cktails and wine, nothing amazing.

Wow! The food was exceptional. It exceeded our expectations. The waitress was very helpful with order suggestions and the service was excellent. The stand out dishes for me was the bone marrow with truffle, prawn skewers, quail skewers and the lamb shoulder.If you have a party of 4 or more, I recommend the banquet - all the dishes on the banquet is excellent.

The food were all on point. This has easily became one of my favourite restaurants. The Eggplant starter was delicious, I loved the spiced tomato and Eggplant flavour together. The steak and sauce were full of flavour. The duck was a highlight for me as it was textbook perfect of how a duck should be, crispy skin, pink and soft meat and fat was well rendered. The lamb neck was falling off the bone as per the photo. Super soft and tender with a thin piece of bread to mop it all up. To finish off we had the chocolate kataifi with sesame ice cream. Could not have ended the meal any better, it was crispy, rich with a hint of nutty and raspberry. Simply delicious.

My favorite dish was their dessert, it was surprisingly good and not too sweet for someone like me not liking sweets that much. Also love their bread, a must order dish. Duck was good too, been there a few times. Loved every dish we ordered.

My first dining experience at Aalia and I was more than impressed.This restaurant has it all. The ambiance; location; vibe; exceptional wait staff; mouthwatering food and of course an impeccable wine list. I could not fault anything! Aalia has definitely set a high standard in the hospitality industry and is without a doubt one of my favourite restaurants. Special mention to our waiter Francesco who provided a flawless service.

A friend suggested Aalia as he had dined here a few times, I live in Melbourne and wouldn't have thought to go to Martin Place for dinner. I was not disappointed. I'm still thinking about the incredibly delicate Sea Urchin that we started with. The bone marrow dish was a flavor packed Middle Eastern pizza, with it's crunchy base playing well with the soft marrow. The Murray cod was one of the best pieces of fish I have ever eaten. The desserts were delicious and not too sweet. The co*cktails were on point and the service was fast and friendly. We ate more than I photographed. This was a well crafted menu of fantastic flavors and I will be returning.

Heard some really good things & finally got to try this beautiful restaurant.Every single dish I had (from the banquet menu) was an absolute delight. No disappointments.The highlight dishes for me were the quail skewers, John Dory & the tumeric cake that was substituted for me due to chocolate allergic.

Lovely dinner overlooking the fountain in Martin Place, the sommelier Lia looked after us so well and choose the perfect wine for us. The food is delicious and the banquet menu offers great value. The kingfish and the lamb are the standouts.

It was absolutely an amazing dining experience at this middle eastern restaurant located at the heart of Sydney CBD, few minutes walk from QVB building. They serve an incredible food and drinks here. I was amazed by the excellent service and the vibrant atmosphere of this place. All of the dishes were astonishing and on course dessert were delicious.

If you're with a group and not sure what to order, you can't go past the shared style set menu. It's a super tasty selection that won't leave you hungry. Modern fresh atmosphere and the bottles in the windows add to the streetscape at night.

It's been awhile since I've had modern middle eastern, and this place was delicious with really good service! The haloumi with nuts and dried fruit was awesome with the salty and sweet flavours; the hommus with salty seeds and nuts with warm pide I could have made a whole meal of itself; charcoal chicken was pretty good (I would have preferred less dry) and the toum with it was great (first time I've had it); Katmer dessert was sweet and buttery with a great texture; all finished off with a Turkish coffee and Turkish delight (not too sweet nor chewy like some places). Yum!!

Food was very traditional and relaxed. Casual venue with a solid wine list. Enjoyed the food that reminded me of traditional style Egyptian cuisine.Stand outs for me were the Kofta, chicken skewers and pide.

I've been here a couple of times now and last night I shared lots of dishes between 3 other people, every dish was delicious. The service was great, our waters never got empty and we were always offered new drinks when they were low. Each dish was so enjoyable, we were raving about how tasty everything was. Yes, the prices aren't cheap but it's on Clarence Street in the middle of the city and when every dish is high quality and the service is good, I don't feel like we overpaid at all, it was a fantastic evening.

The hummus and falafel are a must try here! Hummus goes well with the Lebanese bread. Kebabs are awesome but quite small portion.The margaritas are a bit steep and we didn’t enjoy them as much as much as the food.Bring more friends so you can try a wider variety of kebabs and wonderful food to explore 😊

Pretty good food. Very busy during lunchtime, the atmosphere is nice and vibrant. The staff were polite but not super friendly. The food was okay. I got the lamb wrap, which was rather small, and had barely any lamb in it. I also got the eggplant pita, which was pretty good! But perhaps the construction of the pita was very lacking. There were just big globs of single ingredients. Instead, it would've been great if everything was mixed and evenly spread throughout the pita. It was hard to get a good blend of flavors in one bite. For example, there was a giant whole pickle in there, so when you bite for the pickle, that's all you taste.

Went to Jimmy's Falafel on a Friday night had made a booking earlier in the day. Which I highly recommend for a Friday night, even for 2 people, especially if you don't want to wait for hours. We waited outside until the table was ready. We got seated at a table near to the open kitchen and the doorway. This made it a busy flow area. The staff were fast at times and slow at other times. The food came out not all together which was not ideal. The food was delicious but expensive for the portion size especially as they recommend you get at least 5 plates for two people. We had the special co*cktails which were delectable for the night which were only $15 each which is nicely priced for the city. Only one unisex bathroom for a busy restaurant which I did not like and it was next to the wash up kitchen. So you are standing in line while staff walk past you to put the dirty dishes. The DJ plays fun, energetic music through the night.

First off they have the fundamentals correct, tasty food. However you’re also coming here for an environment and a vibe. Kind of like an old timey bar inside, chill beats playing (but not so loud you can’t hear the person you’re with)We got the Falafel Goddess Pita and chips. Everything was delicious. Pickles were great, chips were soft on the inside with crispy ends. Service was speedy and polite. All in all it was $25 a person, well priced for the food quality and environment. Great place for an event, gathering, or to get some drinks and enjoy a good meal. Two vegan options on the menu as well. Located in Sydney city centre.

Great service and atmosphere. I love the decor and artwork on the walls, creates a fun vibe. I would recommend making a booking as it can get very busy. The falafels are nice, moist and are almost as good as those you would find in the middle east. Sit by the bar of you can, gives you a good view of the rest of the restaurant.

The food is good but portions are small for a middle eastern theme. It's also slightly overpriced with additional 10% surcharge for Sunday and 15% for public holidays. We were initially placed next to the DJ where music was too loud, when we asked to relocate they checked what would we wanted to order. The staff are warm and friendly though.

Only thing I could say is to have more sauce with the wraps as it was a little dry to eat at times. Also the portions are small for a Middle Eastern restaurant. The staff were very nice and were able to take care of us even when it was incredibly busy.

First time I've been to the new shop and love the new space! Lunch was super busy, but the food was as good as I remember! (in fact, maybe even better!) Food was flavourless. Just because there's a dip there, doesn't mean you don't season the rest of the components. Carrot and cranberry salad barely had any cranberries - the ones that were in there tasted fake.

Loved the food. Will need to try their wraps.A thing to do here is to get your food to go and just eat at The Rocks. Views of the opera house with Mediterranean food - best.

Staff were friendly and quick. We were surprised how quickly we received our food. The food was delicious and there was lots of it. Would definitely eat here again.

Had dinner at El Jannah bought the family deal for $34.90, it was super busy at the time we went.This meal is approximately for 2x people but you definitely can squeeze in another 2x people as the wraps and meat were more than enough.The seating area is a very tight squeeze you just have to wait for someone to leave to take there seats.The food was super delicious! Especially the garlic sauce and tabouli.The parking is a little tricky as it is only street parking that’s out in front, there is paid parking which is a few min walk from the shop. My best advice is to either get dropped off or wait for parking on the side streets.Please look into getting more seating please 🙏🏽Highly recommended to anyone who want to satisfy there charcoal chicken craving!

We are visiting Sydney and after viewing Mark Wein’s Sydney Street Food YouTube video, felt we had to visit some of Mark’s recommended street food venues. We were a little disappointed with El Jannah Newtown’s charcoal chicken. The flavours were ok but we were expecting ‘sensational’ so it was a burst your bubble experience.

Every time I go to an El Jannah no matter where it is the meals are always consistently awesome. It is one of my favourite meals to eat whenever I get a chance I pop in for a quality feed.

I’ve been coming to El Jannah for years now, whenever I’m in Sydney, and it never lets down. Amazing charcoal chicken. I’d recommend going with friends if you can and getting a meal deal with pita wraps and pickles. Whatever you do, get an extra garlic sauce though, because one is never enough!

July '23: It's El Jannah, celebrated for their Halal charcoal chicken, burgers, wraps and salad bowls. Dropped by for dinner with some hungry friends and ordered a whole charcoal chicken, which arrived almost instantly with a packet of Lebanese bread, fresh fries, a serving of tabbouleh, garlic paste and pickles ($34.90).Just amazing! The chook was grilled perfectly and so flavourful. Great service: Staff were polite and accommodating. As it's Newtown, it was a bit loud and finding parking can be tricky, but that's all right. Stay blessed y'all 🙏

We really like the roasted chicken plus garlic sauce! No wonder its their signature…Fried ones are just okay, but overall good price and good food. Can be really busy during meal times and if you’re sitting outside be ready for all the buses stopping and passing since it is right next to a bus stop.

Good chicken. I’m a fan of charcoal chicken and it’s good here. Comparable to the others in the franchise. Will be back again. Most of the negative reviews seem connected with dodgy delivery. I got take away and it was good. Take away is their design. “Express” is part of the marketing. A few seats but not many. A little slow when things get busy.

The 1/2 charcoal chicken plate was very good with a huge portion size at a good price point. Very fast service too for a late night meal.

Garlic Sauce is to die for!! Had it with the whole chicken meal with pickles, which was excellent. Went back to buy 2 large garlic butters to take back to Queensland. We could eat this every day!

Amazing food. Definitely worth the visit. The family pack with tabbouleh and some extra regular pickles goes beautifully with the fresh Lebanese bread and flat barbequed chicken and garlic aioli. Me and the three boys didn't finish it! The restaurant is clean with a fresh look. A lot of traffic noise outside, but get a table inside and it is not too bad. Close to the bus stop (right outside). Perfect for takeaway with friends.

Decent burger.I had the spicy fried chicken burger meal, decent value at $17.50. The bun is very similar to KFC, held together well.The fried chicken was delicious and a healthy sized portion in the bun. The spicy mayo was a creeper in terms of spice, would defo recommend.

What a beautiful Turkish restaurant! Who would've thought this would be hidden away in Balmain. Absolutely love the setting and decor, you feel like you could be in Turkey. The food is amazing and the staff are very attentive and friendly. Had a really great evening!

If you are looking for a great breakfast full of tastes and flavours, it is the best place in all over Sydney area you can find. Prices are so reasonable, customer service is great indeed. Comfortable Outdoor seating area. My suggestions to try with no doubt are:- Apple tea- Turkish Coffee- The big tray of jams and cheese

Went for anniversary dinner and I was blown away by food and service. Staffs were quite pleasing and patient enough to explain the food and drink menu. They have a good variety of Turkish wines and non-alcoholic drinks as well. Situated in a street corner, parking is on the street and can be difficult to find during busy times since it is close to residential area.Food quantity is not too much and enough for one person. Being our anniversary dinner, I had requested to organise some surprise for my wife. After our dinner was over, we both were served with their dessert -Turkish Mess- with sparkles and the staffs wishing us 😊. It really looked like a mess but was yum. Nice venue, beautifully decorated and large space inside. We didn't have a booking and had to wait 45 minutes for a table which was fine as we went for a walk. It was so busy they weren't answering the phone whe we called to make a booking. Tasty food, but qite pricey for the serving size. Service was average, not overly friendly or unpleasant either- just did their job. Breakfast menu looked interesting and may come back for that.

Lip smacking food and most of all the staff is super generous and kind. I spilled my drink by mistake and instantly one of the staff came to check on me and swept the place clean while the other very generously replaced the drink I spilled for free. Thank you for your hospitality

The staff cooked our meals quickly, and we didn't have to wait long at all. The food was fresh and flavorful, and we enjoyed every bite. Despite being so hungry, we forgot to take any pictures of our food! Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a quick and delicious meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was simply amazing. I will definitely be back!

Tarboosh is unpretentious place that makes the most incredible middle eastern food. The hero was the Fatoosh salad - Cabbage, tomato, cucumber, radish, shallots, capsicum, fresh mint, parsley &pomegranate glaze w/ lemon dressing & crispy Lebanese bread. There are a number of loaded hummus dishes, we chose hummus with cauliflower, salsa and dukka. Try the Grilled Halloumi cheese served w/ tomato, cucumber, extra virgin olive oil& pomegranate sauce. Its such an incredible restaurant.

Very very disappointed we had been before had amazing food. Tonight we were very disappointed we had to ask twice to be served as we kept getting ignored. Then the main came we had to ask twice for our drinks.Then there was the food the lamb it was inedible and we sent it back.When it came to pay they had not removed the inedible dish as promised. They did after some discussion.Very very disappointed I won't be hurry back

Pretty nice food. The fattoush salad was delicious, wouldn’t recommend ordering the potatoes though. They had a strange sour taste. The mains were nice but I found the quantity small for the price (3 skewers for $30).

Beautiful ambiance with a spacious dining area. Lovely classical background music . Loved the light fluffy basmati rice served with variety of meat, especially the fish and chicken. The various aubergine starters are really nice too. Would recommend it for functions. Theres belly dance performance on Saturday evening too

No way that I go there anymore. Very poor quality of the food. Was the first time to try this restaurant and woud be the last time that we go there. Everyone was complaining about the poor quality of the food. Would recommend them to make the quality of the food much better. Kebab was cold and dry. Chicken was not well cooked. The rice was not well steamed.Would not recommend them at all.It is a totally waste of time and money.

Quite nice Persian food, with a good lunch special. The restaurant itself is enormous, so it probably good for functions or events.The service is quite friendly and nice.The food itself was quite good, the Ghormeh and Khoresh had quite a unique sauce that was interestingly tangy and sour. The meat is very tender, but not very much flavour. Both came with really large serves of rice.Also had the smoked eggplant which was really good.Want to try the BBQ skewers next time

My family and I went there on Saturday night for Persian New year. The food was terrible and hardly something you would expect to eat at a Persian restaurant including fish nuggets, fries (frozen ones), bland kebab and stews. They didn’t have tomatoes for the kebab which was a shocker. There was no doogh, homemade dessert and the tea was served in plastic cups. The restaurant had multiple trip hazards and I saw many kids trip over and almost injure themselves. Those trip hazards are just a law suit waiting to happen. I think the venue was way over capacity, the tables were put so close to one another, to a point that it was hard to just walk.

Came here for a beautiful dinner on a quiet Monday night. Enjoyed having the place to me and my family and was catered on by the caring and dedicated staff who take care of all of our needs. Really was impressed with the service and the tasty Tucker. Make sure sure you order the sultani kebab with extra rice and butter!
