Jason Statham's character in this movie is an expert in:
-hand-to-hand combat
-marksmanship
-swimming
-diving
-explosives
-chemistry
-extreme wall climbing
-mixed martial arts
-creating booby traps
-document forging
-scuba
-computer hacking
-tying knotsIronically, the one skill he doesn't seem to possess? Mechanic.
Still, the way this movie addresses human trafficking and Jessica Alba's butt in one scene *multiple times* is quite impressive.

less cinema... more like watching your buddy play COD single player, but your buddy is jason statham, so not entirely devoid of fun i guess

They should've called a mechanic to fix the movie.

Review by Rafael "Parker!!" Jovine ★★★½ 6
Starring: The Bold, Bald, Gruff Action Man Jason Statham
What the first The Mechanic lacked in many respects, the sequel makes up for in spades.
Indeed, the action scenes, from the prison to the swimming pool, are much more memorable. There were moments when it was reminiscent of an action movie from the '80s or '90s. The romantic elements were adequate, but I must admit that I wasn't very moved by them. Once again, Statham excels in the role of a mercenary. Tommy Lee's appearance and performance were definitely a choice. My only gripe is that too much reliance was placed on the CGI, most notably in the restaurant scene, when everything seemed artificial despite the fact that it could have been filmed in a real place.
All in all, if you're looking for good action, you're likely to be entertained by this.

Deeply stupid, but as unnecessary, overtly DTV-ish, crummy sequels go it's a damn sight more fun than JACK REACHER 2, and bonus points for whatever it is Tommy Lee Jones is up to.

Review by Logan Kenny ★★ 2
this is not good like at all but jason statham presses a man's face into a grill and burns half the dude's face off and the director decided to make it a close up shot of a man's face sizzling, which actually makes this a masterpiece

I knew it was a risk trying the sequel out despite me kinda liking the first one and I regret it so much because this is a contender for the worst film I've ever seen. Not a single part of this film is even close to being good in my opinion. It looks horrendous, the action is ridiculously stupid, the story is a complete mess, it takes cheesiness to a whole new level and it may have the worst script of all time.
This was a complete waste of time and I want to forget this film instantly; a truly horrible piece of filmmaking.

Review by Callum (Lincoln Al-Gaib™) ★★½ 9
Bold take: capital punishment is an archaic and babaric practice with no place in modern society (*holds for applause*) but™, in saying that, releasing a sloppy choppily-editied action flick into a *post* John Wick, *post* Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation world!? I mean... What do we do?
Despite it's title, Mechanic: Resurrection is(n't) entirely bad. With Statham cracking a coffee-table off the temple of some blackmailing broad ("broad"? awful word) how could it be? But in an age where visual clarity// practicality// Rebecca Ferguson-anity have become a must for action filmmaking, the quick-cut riddled// CGI-smeared sludge seen here just don't cut it. And no... A frequently shirtless, frequently shoe-less, frequently wet Statham can't convince me otherwise
