I love my hot coffee, but on a hot, humid day, there’s no way I feel like drinking a mug of something warm. I want something cold and refreshing. And this coffee milkshake always hits the spot.

This maple coffee milkshake is my spin on a maple latte…but with a bit more decadence. Add some maple ice cream, maple cookies, and maple syrup, and you’ll be in sweet dessert heaven!

  • Maple Cream Cookies – I use Dare Maple Leaf Cream Cookies, but if there’s another variety of maple cream cookies you love, feel free to use those instead.

Recipe Tips and Variations

  • Don’t over-blend. Over-blending the milkshake can start to melt the ice cream. Then you’ll end up with a thinner texture rather than the thick, creamy texture we want!
  • Serve immediately. A milkshake is always best served fresh!
  • No hot brewed coffee? You can swap it out for cold brew instead.
  • Make it decaf. Enjoying this coffee milkshake later in the day? You can easily use decaf coffee in place of regular.

Storage Instructions

I don’t recommend storing this milkshake. It is best enjoyed immediately after blending!

What is the Difference Between a Frappe and a Milkshake?

While both are milk-based sweet drinks, there are some key differences!

Frappes are made using coffee, milk, sweetener, and ice all blended together. Milkshakes are made using ice cream and other flavorings blended to create a thicker, creamier drink. While frappes always contain coffee, milkshakes do not!

Do Maple and Coffee Go Together?

Heck yes they do! The sweet, nutty, caramel flavor notes of maple pairs perfectly with the nutty, smoky flavor notes in coffee.

Do Coffee Milkshakes Have Coffee in them?

Technically, no. Classic milkshakes are not made with any coffee. However, there are tons of variations on a classic milkshake…and those variations include milkshakes made with coffee just like this one.
