The Lakers announced last month that Bryant would get two more statues, one with him in a No. 24 jersey, which he wore in his last 10 seasons, and the other with daughter Gianna, who also was killed in the crash.

A statue commemorating the late Lakers star was unveiled Thursday outside of the Crypto.com Arena, formerly Staples Center, in downtown Los Angeles. Thursday held special significance for the unveiling of Bryant's statue, chosen in honor of the numerology associated with the date, 2/8/24.

The Los Angeles Lakers unveiled a statue honoring the late Hall of Fame player, Feb. 9. The statue stands as the largest of the seven statues displayed outside the arena in downtown Los Angeles.

At the marble base of the statue is a rendering of the box score from Bryant's 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors in 2006. In that box score, the name of former NBA player Jose Calderon is misspelled as “Jose Calderson,” and former player Von Wafer's name appears as “Vom Wafer.”

The lawsuit reached a settlement, and Kobe's parents were allowed to sell the ring and other items. Now, the buyer has sold the ring thirteen years later.

Public access to the statue will be limited Feb. 8 due to the unveiling ceremony and event load out. All guests and fans entering the statue ceremony must present their specific ceremony ticket for in-person access. Game tickets do not allow access to the ceremony event.
